Our Research Program offers a personalized and flexible path to academic discovery. You’ll be paired with a PhD-level mentor in your chosen field to explore a topic you’re passionate about—culminating in a unique research paper you can showcase with pride.

Whether you’re drawn to cells, circuits, society, or startups, Research Ignited supports both qualitative and quantitative research across a wide range of disciplines. Popular fields include Biology, Engineering, Psychology, Computer Science, Political Science, Business, Aerospace and more.

Optional Publication Support

Take your research one step further with our Optional Publication Support. This add-on guides students through the process of submitting their paper to one or more academic journals.

You’ll receive up to 3 one-on-one sessions focused on:

  • Selecting suitable journals

  • Formatting and preparing your manuscript

  • Responding to reviewer feedback

  • Resubmitting if revisions or rejections occur

Please note that some journals may charge publication fees, which are not included in the program cost.

Submission timelines and reviewer responses vary, and “Accepted with Revisions” is a common outcome. These sessions provide continued mentorship through edits, formatting, and—if needed—resubmission to a different journal.

High School Research Program Requirements

  • Mentees must be high school students or undergraduate students at the time of application.
  • Mentees should have taken the relevant classes available to them in high school and have at least a basic understanding of the subject to which they’re interested, demonstrated by their coursework, extracurriculars, personal reading, etc.
  • Mentees must have at least five hours a week available to work on their paper outside of the scheduled sessions.
  • Mentees need to have excellent time management skills.
  • Mentees need to have reliable internet access and connection, as well as video and audio capabilities for the sessions.

  • The program is $1800 with optional publication support for an additional $400.
  • No, our mentors can work with you to identify your interests and determine a research topic.
  • This will depend on the topic or project of choice, but most do not require experience.
  • Go to the apply tab and fill out the information requested. We will get back to you quickly
    for scheduling a brief interview & information session with the program director.
  • We have rolling admissions, so you can apply at any time.
  • We will match you with a mentor based on your area of interest and research ideas.
  • If after your first session, you’re not satisfied with your mentor’s knowledge, support,
    availability, or expertise, please let us know, so we can match you with a new mentor.
  • Our program is flexible and tailored to you. You and your mentor will plan the sessions based
    on both of your availability. Typically, students who enroll in our program during the school
    year are expected to complete it between 4-6 months, while summer programs can be as
    short as 12-16 weeks.
  • We use google classroom to facilitate conversation between mentor and mentee, and allow the mentor to follow the student’s progress.
  • Of course, our mentors are expected to check their emails daily and respond within 72 hours
    to their students.
  • You will be fully refunded if you cancel before the first session. If you cancel within 3 sessions,
    you can receive a 70% refund. The program is nonrefundable after the 3rd session has been
    completed.
