What students gain

More than a head start

This isn't cram-style test prep. It's a confidence-building bridge that teaches students to think like scientists, mathematicians and engineers before the AP course even begins.

🧭

A real head start

Walk into your AP class already familiar with the major units — so the school year feels like review, not a scramble.

📊

Reasoning that scores

Read data, solve problems, and answer AP-style free-response questions with the structure that actually earns points.

🔬

The bigger picture

See how AP coursework connects to real research and careers — in medicine, engineering, data science and technology.

The 6-week plan

10 live sessions, mapped to the AP units

Ten live 90-minute sessions (15 hours), plus 4–6 hours of guided AP-style practice. Broad, high-level coverage of the major units — a preview built for confidence, not a full-year replacement. Pick a subject:

01
Course overview, chemistry of life & biomoleculesDiagnostic of the major AP themes; carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, nucleic acids.
02
Cell structure, organelles, membranes & transportHow cells are built and how things move across the membrane.
03
Enzymes, photosynthesis & cellular respirationEnergetics — the engine behind every living thing.
04
Cell communication & the cell cycleSignaling, feedback, mitosis and what goes wrong in cancer.
05
Heredity, meiosis & inheritance patternsMendelian genetics and the rules of inheritance.
06
DNA, RNA, protein synthesis & gene regulationThe central dogma, gene expression, biotech & CRISPR.
07
Evolution & natural selectionPopulation genetics, evidence and mechanisms of evolution.
08
Ecology, populations, ecosystems & energy flowHow organisms interact and energy moves through systems.
09
Data analysis & experimental designGraphs, variables, controls and AP-style FRQ reasoning.
10
Research connections + final reviewReal biomedical research topics, AP-style practice, and an optional 1-page research brief.
Let's be clear about what this is

A bridge — not a cram course.

This is not a full-year AP class or a score-guarantee test-prep program. It's a focused summer bridge that previews the major AP units, builds reasoning skills, and shows students how the subject is actually used — so they start the year with momentum and confidence.

Preview, then masterWe cover the major units at a high level so the school-year course feels familiar — not a first encounter.
Reasoning over memorizingAP rewards students who can interpret, solve and argue from evidence. That's what we drill.
Taught by top mentorsGraduate & postgraduate students from Ivy League and top universities who use these skills in real work.
What students leave with

Confidence now, a pathway forward

Whether you're prepping for AP or simply want the STEM foundation to begin original research, the Bridge is your on-ramp — and the first step toward working 1:1 with a PhD research mentor.

FoundationA real head start

Familiarity with the major AP units and AP-style reasoning before day one of the school-year course.

SkillsSTEM thinking

Problem-solving, data & quantitative reasoning, and free-response strategy that carry through all of high-school STEM.

NextA path into original research

Whether or not you take AP at school, the Bridge builds the foundation to move into Research Ignited's 1:1 PhD research mentorship — and produce an original, potentially publishable project.

Questions parents ask

Good to know

Which subjects can my student take?+

Five: AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Computer Science A, AP Statistics, and AP Calculus (AB). Each runs as its own small-group cohort with the same 6-week format and tuition. Students typically take one subject per summer.

Is this AP test prep?+

Not in the cram-for-the-exam sense. It's a summer bridge: students preview the major AP units, build reasoning skills, and gain confidence before the school-year course begins. We don't make score guarantees — we make students ready and confident.

Is the Computer Science course Java (CS A) or CS Principles?+

It's AP Computer Science A — real Java programming. Students write actual code from the first session (in a browser-based environment, nothing to install), covering objects, classes, arrays, inheritance and recursion.

Is Calculus AB or BC?+

The Bridge focuses on AP Calculus AB — the core foundation most students need (limits, derivatives, integrals and their applications). If your student is heading into BC, ask us and we'll advise on the best fit, including private 1:1.

What's the schedule?+

Six weeks, two live 90-minute sessions per week on weekday evenings — 10 sessions and 15 live hours total — plus 4–6 hours of guided practice. Each subject runs on its own evening; exact dates/times are listed per subject in the cohorts section above. Prefer a different time or pace? The Private 1:1 option is fully flexible.

Who teaches it?+

Graduate and postgraduate students (Master's & PhD level) from Ivy League and top universities, with strong backgrounds in the subject they teach — the same caliber of mentors behind our research programs.

My school doesn't offer AP — or I just want to get ahead. Is this still for me?+

Yes. You don't need to be enrolled in AP to join. Many students use the Bridge to build a strong foundation before the course — or simply to get ahead in a STEM subject and explore where it leads, including original research with a PhD mentor.

Where does this lead?+

Beyond a strong start in AP, students who want to go further can continue into Research Ignited's 1:1 Research Mentorship, working with a PhD-level mentor on an original project — sometimes toward journal publication.

Start the school year already ahead

Give your student a confident, curious start in AP Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Statistics or Calculus this summer — and a glimpse of where STEM can take them. Small cohorts; seats are limited.
